The Interfood Machinery Group Pty Ltd was formed in Australia in 1995 by a group of people previously working with the well known Lindgren Company, which had been bought out by public company Burns Philp for its food ingredients capability.
The new Interfood venture began work on setting up sales and service facilities in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne with a total of six employees.
At the same time Interfood commenced a cooperation with the New Zealand company, Sulzer, who worked as sub-agents of Interfood Machinery Group Pty Ltd until 1998, when Interfood bought out the Sulzer machinery division to form Interfood NZ.
